About Us:
We at Pettigrew's
Custom Iron & Metals (formerly Kriders Iron) would like to tell you a
little about us. Bill & Betty
Pettigrew bought the business, in 1975, that Bud Krider established in 1952 and
it remains a leader in the ornamental iron and decorative metals industry in
Dallas and the Southwest. Lee
Pettigrew joined his parents from beginning and learned the industry from the
shop to the office. Eventually,
Billy united with the others combining all of their skills in an efficiently run
business. With four Pettigrews at
the helm, in 1993 we changed our name to Pettigrew's Custom Iron & Metals,
months before the passing of Bill Pettigrew. Betty Pettigrew retired from the office in 2005 and peacefully passed away in June of 2016. We are a family business that treats all of our customers and employees as family too. We have three employees with 20 or more years of service with us and several others with more than 10 years employment.
For 43 years we’ve maintained a commitment to old world craftsmanship and quality workmanship. We’ve had many architects, designers and homeowners present us with drawings and ideas. After talking it through to understand what their finished vision, we bring those thoughts and ideas from design to a finished product.
Lee likes to spend his weekends at the lake skiing in the summer months and snow skiing in the winter. Billy loves to fish when he is not volunteering his time at Ridgewood Park United Methodist Church.
As
the Late Bill Pettigrew always said:
"You
are limited only by your imagination and/or pocketbook."
